New initiative to support policy-makers in finding workable solutions to the youth employment crisis
A new initiative to help policy-makers find solutions to the challenge of youth employment was launched by the ILO in Bangkok. This initiative will focus on sharing knowledge about youth employment policies in 13 countries in Asia and the Pacific.

BANGKOK (ILO News) -- A new initiative that aims to help policy-makers find solutions to the challenge of youth employment has been launched by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Bangkok, Thailand.
This initiative will focus on sharing knowledge about youth employment policies in 13 countries in Asia and the Pacific, with the aim of supporting policy-makers tackle the youth employment crisis through measures that work and make informed policy decisions.
Funded by the Japanese Government, this one-year initiative will collect information on national youth employment policies and also conduct in-depth reviews to provide recommendations for action that can help tackle the youth employment crisis.
Governments, employers’ and workers’ organizations from these 13 countries will share lessons learned by accessing information on policies and legislation. All the data and reviews will be available through a public online database on youth employment policies, YouthPOL .
This regional initiative will be implemented by the ILO’s Youth Employment Programme in Bangkok and Geneva as part of the Organization’s global response to the youth employment crisis.
