New EU partnership on social protection, labour and employment issues
On 30 May, SOCIEUX+, an EU-wide partnership that brings together expertise on social protection, labour and employment policies, met in Brussels in the presence of high EU officials.

On 30 May, SOCIEUX+, an EU-wide partnership that brings together expertise on social protection, labour and employment policies, met in Brussels in the presence of EU Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development, Neven Mimica, Belgian Deputy Prime Minister for Development Cooperation, Alexander De Croo, and Belgian Minister of Social Affairs and Health, Maggie De Block.
The ILO estimates that 55% of the global population is not covered by any form of social protection. To narrow this gap, between now and 2030, the ILO Global Flagship Programme on Building Social Protection Floors for All will support around 60 countries to develop and implement nationally defined social protection floors.
During the conference, Heinz Koller, the ILO Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia, underlined that Belgium and the ILO have a long tradition of cooperation in the field of social protection and invited the experts of SOCIEUX+ to join the ILO in the promotion of a rights-based approach to social protection.
