May Day Celebrated in Russia

The First of May - May Day - is celebrated in Russia as A Day of Spring and Labour. After several years of uneasy and socially tense celebrations the May Day of 2001 was a quiet day, although the number of participants in the celebrations and May Day demonstrations was the largest for the last decade.
