Legal analysis of Armenia’s regulatory framework and practices against ILO Violence and Harassment Convention (C190)

The research examines the alignment of Armenia's laws, policies, and practices with the requirements of International Labour Organization (ILO) Convention. It is part of the "Promoting Implementation of Labour Rights in Armenia Together" project, funded by the United States Department of Labour (USDoL).

The workshop featured opening remarks by Ruben Sargsyan, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Affairs (MLSA) of the Republic of Armenia, and Nune Hovhannisyan, ILO National Coordinator for Armenia.

Sergey Ghazinyan, ILO External Collaborator, presented the research findings and recommendations. "In the last few years, Armenia has made significant efforts to fight against violence and harassment in the workplace. It includes amending legislation and strengthening the mandate and capacity of competent state institutions. By ratifying the ILO Convention No. 190, Armenia will promote a work environment free from violence and harassment and provide protection for all workers regardless of their contractual status. In this frame, the current legal analysis aims to evaluate the alignment of domestic legislation with the ILO Convention No. 190 and identify areas of compliance and opportunities for improvement.”

The “Promoting Implementation of Labour Rights in Armenia Together” project, implemented by the ILO and financed by the US Department of Labour (USDoL), strives to enhance compliance with labour legislation and facilitate access to both judicial and non-judicial remedies in Armenia.
