Labour Mobility Report for Kazakhstan and Russian Federation Presented in Astana
On 1 November, the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Kazakhstan organised a tripartite round table to discuss a labour mobility report prepared by the ILO’s external expert Tomas Berglund, Professor of Gothenburg University, Sweden, who presented the report.

The presentation was attended by Vice Minister Birzhan Nurymbetov, Acting Director of Employment Department Erbolat Abulkhatin, other Ministry officials, representatives of social partners and the ILO delegation. Mikhail Pouchkin, Chief Technical Adviser of the ILO Youth Employment project, co-chaired the session.
At a separate meeting, Vice Minister Birzhan Nurymbetov and Mikhail Pouchkin discussed the implementation of the Youth Employment Action Plan adopted by the Government in April 2016, and the ILO’s Future of Work Initiative. The Vice Minister expressed a strong interest in Kazakhstan’s involvement in the Initiative. The country’s representatives were invited to attend the first Future of Work round table in the sub-region to be held in Moscow on 12 December 2016.
