Last year, the Republican Scientific-Methodological Centre (operating under the Agency of Vocational Education of the KR), one of the major national partner organizations, asked the ILO Project “Applying the G20 Training Strategy” to review and update the KAB training package, reflecting the changes that occurred in the business sphere in recent years and prepare a new group of key facilitators for the system, who, in their turn, will train instructors (facilitators) on KAB in all 94 vocational schools across the country.
The revision of KAB materials started in January 2016, with the assistance from an international facilitator. The TKF was held for 16 trainees, mainly from the AVE system, on the basis of newly revised materials.
The ILO Project “Applying G20 Training Strategy” is planning to print and publish new versions of the KAB in Kyrgyz and Russian languages and distribute them to all 94 vocational schools in the country pri¬or to the new 2016 academic year. Also, the Project is planning to assist the Agency on Vocational Education in training around one hundred KAB instructors (facilitators) in June-August 2016, covering all schools across the country.
Masuma Bashirova, Director of the Repub¬lican Scientific-Methodological Centre of the Kyrgyz Republic, described this train¬ing of Key Facilitators as a timely action. “It will allow us to build a pool of qualified trainers/facilitators, who will serve as a resource for future KAB training needs in Kyrgyzstan,” she said.
