Kazakhstan’s Labour Ministry makes efforts to refine minimum subsistence level
Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Labour and Social Protection set up a working group of national and foreign experts that will develop initiatives towards refining a minimum subsistence level.

“As a result, recommendations developed by the working group will be used as a basis for further improvement of methods to calculate a minimum subsistence level,” Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Labour and Social Protection said in its statement.
It is worth noting that a draft concept for Kazakhstan’s social development until 2030 envisages an increase in a minimum subsistence level by 2017 through reconsideration of its structure and expansion of the market basket assortment taking into consideration the government’s opportunities.
Earlier the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection together with the International Labour Organization studied international experience of calculating a minimum subsistence level.
“ILO experts found out that the methods for calculating a minimum subsistence level applied in Kazakhstan met international requirements,” the ministry said.
