Job fairs for youth in Egypt
The ILO Cairo Office organized two job fairs in New Valley and Minya that attracted more than 10 thousand youth job seekers.

The ILO Cairo Office, in collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Manpower and Migration, organized two job fairs in order to provide job opportunities to young graduates to meet potential employers.
The first job fair that was organized in New Valley Governorate on 28 April 2014 at El-Kharga Youth Center, attracted a high turnout of local authorities as well as representatives from the different ministries. The event was organized by the ‘Transition to Employment: Career Guidance for Youth and Job Creation’ project implemented by ILO and funded by Italian Egyptian Debt for Development Swap Program.
The second job fair that was organized at Minya Stadium, in Minya Governorate on the 10th of May 2014 mainly addressed fresh graduates who are looking for potential employers. This event was organized by the ‘Decent Jobs for Egypt’s Young People, Tackling the challenges together’ project implemented by ILO and funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada (DFATD).
At the end of the two job fairs, over ten thousand job opportunities were offered to the youth by the private and investment sectors. Among the participating companies, some of them further offered training opportunities for the job seekers.
