JAKARTA (ILO News): The Indonesian Ministry of Manpower, in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO), will host a national conference for Indonesia in preparation for the Indonesian Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly the Goal 8: “Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.” The Conference will be conducted at Borobudur Hotel, Jakarta from 17-18 February.

Given Indonesia's leadership in the development and promotion of SDGs, the conference will be an opportunity to consolidate lessons learned and provide policy recommendations for the development and implementation of the Indonesian Agenda for the Goal 8 of SDGs. These discussions and recommendations will help in achieving decent work for all by 2030 in Indonesia.

The two-day conference will feature sessions on a range of topics that include inclusive economic growth, employment creation strategy, productivity improvement, rights at work, minimum wage policy and social protection. The conference will be opened by the Minister of Manpower of Indonesia, Muhamad Hanif Dhakiri, the ILO’s Deputy Director-General for Field Operations and Partnerships, Gilbert Houngbo, and the ILO’s Assistant Director-General and Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific, Tomoko Nishimoto.
