The ILO today launched the first edition of the National Journalism Prize in Social Protection

The International Labour Organization (ILO) launched today, in Luanda, the First Edition of the National Journalism Award in Social Protection in Angola.
The initiative has the partnership of the Journalist Training Center (CEFOJOR) and the Association of Angolan Communicologists (ACAN), and is carried out within the scope of the Project "Expansion of Social Security to Support the Formalization of the Angolan Economy (ESSAFE)", implemented by the ILO in Angola and funded by the European Union.
The Press Conference to launch the award took place in the auditorium of CEFOJOR and brought together journalists from various media, who sought clarification from the panel made up of the Deputy Head of the Delegation of the European Union in Angola, Dr. Paulo Simões Barroso, the ILO project manager in Angola, Denise Monteiro, and the president of ACAN, representing the jury.
The Prize aims to recognize and encourage the practice of journalism related to the area of Social Protection in Angola, aiming to promote a greater knowledge of Angolans about the system and benefits of Social Protection and encourage greater participation of citizens in the Social Protection system.
The Award will distinguish journalistic works (news and reports) that address matters on Social Protection, both contributory and non-contributory, produced by journalists who practice professional journalism in Angola.
Applications
Journalists can submit their applications until September 30, 2024. The pieces eligible for the award are those that were published from October 1, 2023 until the end of the application period. Applications and clarifications are made via email: [email protected] .
