ILO thanks Irish Presidency for fruitful cooperation
Now that Ireland handed the Presidency of the EU Council to Lithuania, the ILO Office wishes to thank the Irish Presidency for its positive contributions to the ILO’s International Labour Conference, the ILO Governing Body and the ILO European Regional Meeting in Oslo, where the Irish Presidency had a prominent role in negotiating the Oslo Declaration.

The ILO is looking forward to collaborating with the Lithuanian Presidency in order to maximise the potential of ILO-EU cooperation on responding to the job crisis, on global debates such as on the post-2015 development framework and on bringing forward ongoing EU discussions related to ILO instruments and frameworks, such as the implementation of the Maritime Labour Convention and the facilitation of the ratification of the Domestic Work Convention.
