ILO-Spain emphasizes importance of senior talent and adequate social protection for older people
Meeting of the ILO Office for Spain and the digital media 65YMÁS to discuss the problems affecting older workers.

The aim of the meeting was to discuss the difficulties experienced by workers over the age of 55 who have been expelled from the labour market when looking for a new job, as well as the need to value senior talent within organisations, and to address social protection issues, especially for people of retirement age, such as the recognition of contributions made in other countries.
Félix Peinado stressed the importance of ILO Convention 102, ratified by Spain in 1988, which, among other issues, provides for the right to retirement benefits. In this respect, he pointed out that almost 23% of people over 65 years of age in the world do not receive any pension. 65YMÁS will disseminate among its readers the numerous pieces of information generated by the ILO that are of interest to the senior public.
