ILO Regional Director for Africa, Aeneas Chuma, in Côte d’Ivoire
The ILO Assistant Director-General and Regional Director for Africa, Aeneas Chapinga Chuma, on a two-day official visit to Côte d’Ivoire to assess the impact and strengthen the cooperation with the tripartite constituents.
ADDIS ABABA (ILO News) – The ILO Regional Director for Africa, Aeneas Chapinga Chuma, paid an official visit to Abidjan from 27-28 August to review and accelerate the pace of ILO’s strategic cooperation with Côte d’Ivoire.
During his visit, Mr Chuma met and discuss with the Minister of Employment, Social Affairs and Vocational Education, Mr Moussa Dosso and with the Ivorian social partners, including Senior representatives of the Employers 'and Workers' Organisations.
The Regional Director for Africa also officially introduced the new Director for the ILO Country Office in Abidjan, Mr Dramane Haidara, to the Ivorian authorities. The ILO has been providing technical support and expertise to Côte d’Ivoire in line with the country’s national development strategy and the Decent Work Agenda for Africa.
The ILO will provide additional support to the national Labour Market Information Systems and to help Côte d’Ivoire's informal sector to transition to formality.
Aeneas Chuma was also briefed by the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations on the joint work of the UN System in the country.
The ILO has been providing technical support and expertise to Côte d’Ivoire in line with the country’s national development strategy and the Decent Work Agenda for Africa.
