ILO to publish World Social Protection Report

GENEVA – The International Labour Organization (ILO) is to launch the “World Social Protection Report 2014/15: Building economic recovery, inclusive development and social justice” on Tuesday, 3 June.
The new report presents the latest social security trends and provides information on social protection systems, coverage, benefits and expenditures in more than 190 countries.
It also looks at whether or not people in the different parts of the world are lacking adequate social protection at a time it is most needed.
Embargoed electronic copies of the report, executive summary and associated media material will be made available to journalists upon request, starting on Monday, 2 June, by contacting the ILO Newsroom ([email protected]) or the Department of Communication and Public Information at +4122/799-7912.
For Geneva correspondents: A press briefing by Sandra Polaski, ILO Deputy Director-General and Isabel Ortiz, Director of the ILO Social Protection Department, will be held, under embargo, on Monday, 2 June at 10 a.m. in press room 1 at the Palais des Nations. The report and all associated material and information are under strict embargo until 00.01 GMT on Tuesday, 3 June.
