ILO to publish World Employment and Social Outlook 2016

GENEVA – The International Labour Organization (ILO) is to launch its flagship report, World Employment and Social Outlook 2016, on Wednesday, 18 May at 20:00 GMT.
This year’s edition looks at poverty reduction and how it has been influenced by income inequality and the availability of quality jobs in developing and developed countries.
The report provides an estimate of the cost to eradicate extreme and moderate poverty globally. It also offers policy recommendations to address the structural challenges needed to provide both quality jobs and poverty reduction.
Embargoed electronic copies of the report, and associated media material will be made available to journalists upon request, starting on the morning of Wednesday, 18 May, by contacting [email protected] or the Department of Communication and Public Information at +4122/799-7912.
