ILO to publish its annual flagship report “World of Work”

GENEVA – The International Labour Organization (ILO) is to launch its annual flagship report “World of Work 2014: developing with jobs”, on Tuesday, 27 May.
This year’s edition focuses on developing countries and argues that quality jobs are a key driver for development. It draws on evidence from over 140 developing countries and finds that a common factor amongst those countries that have achieved higher per capita income and sustained growth was quality jobs.
The second part of the report looks at what works in terms of quality job creation. This section includes specific chapters on structural transformation, labour markets, social protection, inequalities and emigration. The report also updates key labour market projections published in the 2014 edition of the GET report.
