ILO to present the latest global estimates on child labour

GENEVA – A report providing the latest estimates of the number of child labourers worldwide and regionally is to be released on 23 September by the International Labour Organization (ILO).
The report, entitled "Marking progress against child labour: Global estimates and trends 2000-2012", provides the most recent and wide-ranging assessment currently available on the extent of child labour and international efforts to stop it.
Since 2000, the ILO has been taking stock and measuring global progress on the reduction of child labour. The current report is the fourth round of child labour estimates. The analysis is also set in light of the target set by the ILO of eliminating all the worst forms of child labour by 2016.
