ILO Hosts Certification Ceremony for Textile Workers Following Workplace Adaptation Programme Training in Istanbul

İstanbul (ILO Haber) –The International Labour Organization (ILO) Office for Türkiye proudly concludes another successful chapter in its ongoing efforts to enhance social cohesion and productivity with the Workplace Adaptation Programme (WAP) training. Held in Istanbul on March 12, 2024, this training session catered specifically to INDITEX Supply-Chain workers, reaffirming the commitment to empower workers with essential skills including knowledge on core labor rights, respect to diversity, gender equality, effective communication methods and knowledge for thriving in their respective industries.
With a total of 22 dedicated participants, the training provided tailored guidance and practical strategies to improve working conditions and foster inter-cultural communication within the supply-chain. Building upon the foundation laid during the initial training session on February 8, 2024, organized by the ILO Office for Türkiye, this follow-up session further solidified the participants' understanding and implementation of key workplace adaptation principles.
One of the highlights of the training was the certification ceremony held at the conclusion of the program. This ceremony served as a testament to the dedication and hard work of all participants who committed themselves to the comprehensive training program. Each participant who completed the entire programme received a well-deserved certificate, recognizing their achievement and commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
The certification ceremony not only celebrated the individual accomplishments of the participants but also underscored the collective efforts towards creating safer and more inclusive workplaces across Türkiye. By equipping workers with the necessary skills and knowledge, the ILO Office for Türkiye remains steadfast in its mission to promote decent work and sustainable economic growth.
