ILO at Eurofound Conference on home care services
On 12 September 2013, Ms Rie Vejs-Kjeldgaard (ILO/EUROPE) participated in a Eurofound - Lithuanian Presidency conference on “More and better jobs in home care services”. She reminded the participants of the importance and relevance of ILO Convention 189.

On 12 September 2013, Ms Rie Vejs-Kjeldgaard (ILO/EUROPE) participated in a Eurofound - Lithuanian Presidency conference on “More and better jobs in home care services”. Chairing one of the panels, she reminded the participants of the importance and relevance of the ILO Domestic Workers Convention (No. 189).
At the conference, ILO-Brussels also exposed the results of 4 country case studies in Belgium, France, Italy and Spain of the project “Promoting integration for migrant domestic workers in Europe”, led by the ILO’s International Migration Programme and funded by the EU. The results of this project are very relevant in the discussion on home care services, since these services are very often carried out by migrant workers.
