The ILO DWT and Office for the Caribbean bids farewell to Ariel Pino

Mr. Pino is now the ILO Coordinator in Haiti

Mr Ariel Pino joined the ILO Decent Work Team and Office for the Caribbean in April 2016, as a Social Protection and Occupational Safety and Health Specialist. During his time at the ILO Caribbean Office, he assisted governments, employers’ and workers’ organizations in strengthening their social protection and occupational safety and health policies and practices. Among salient achievements, he has spearheaded actuarial reviews in Belize, Dominica, Guyana, Saint Lucia, The Bahamas and Trinidad and Tobago, the unemployment insurance in Jamaica, social protection assessments in Barbados and Suriname as well as social protection policies. He also supported the review of OSH legislation, the development of National OSH Policies in Grenada, Guyana, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines as well as the of ILO Conventions in Antigua and Barbuda and Saint Lucia.

Mr Pino took up a new assignment as the ILO Coordinator in Haiti as of 1 October 2022. The Director and staff of the ILO Caribbean Office take this opportunity to thank Ariel for his invaluable contributions to the region thus far and wish him every success as he continues in the region to lend his expertise to the country of Haiti, under his new assignment.
