ILO Director-General Guy Ryder To Visit Uzbekistan
A meeting between Sherzod Kudbiev, Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, and Kari Tapiola, International Labour Office, as well as Anton Hausen and Oksana Lipkanu, representatives of the International Labour Organization (ILO) project, took place at the Ministry building in Tashkent.

The meeting was focused on the progress of Uzbekistan’s Decent Work Programme, promoting constructive cooperation between Uzbekistan and the ILO including in the sphere of child labour and forced labour elimination.
It was noted that Uzbekistan’s government and officials were pursuing effective policies as part of the decent work concept to enforce labour rights of children and women, the press service of the Ministry reported.
A separately discussed issue was the forthcoming International Conference “Promoting Decent Employment in the Context of Sustainable Development Goals: International Best Practices and Uzbekistan’s Experience” to be attended by Guy Ryder, ILO Director-General.
