ILO Awards Deserving Journalists During MISA 2017 Awards
The International Labor Organization (ILO) partnered and supported the 15th MISA Zambia Media Awards slated for 5th May, 2017 and awarded deserving journalists in Best Labour Relations reporting, Best Child Labour reporting, and Best Social Protection reporting.

ILO Country Director Alexio Musindo presented the awards to the deserving journalists as follows; in the category of Best Labour Relations reporting, Mr Musindo presented the two awards to Charity Moonga of Times of Zambia and Mwape Kumwenda from Muvi TV.
The Best Child Labour reporting award was scooped by Annie Zulu from Daily Nation and Mwape Kumwenda from Muvi TV. And the Best Social Protection reporting, was scooped by ZNBC’s TV Joseph Phiri.
The 2017 MISA Awards were the 15th edition featuring 19 competitive award categories presented at the exquisite gala which was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel ball room.
The event brought together various media practitioners, civil society, government and private sector leaders from various parts of the country with carefully selected entertainment featuring a live band and a mix of the best that Zambia had to offer.
Suffice to mention that the MISA Zambia Media Awards are an annual event which honour journalists, individuals and institutions that have made significant contribution towards the advancement of media freedom and access to information in Zambia.
The awards were established in 2002 to honour people and organizations that have made a mark in ensuring that the country’s democracy grows through entrenchment of values of freedom of expression and of the media.
