The ILO is providing technical assistance to The Bahamas for the development of a National Apprenticeship Policy. In collaboration with ITC-ILO, this initiative involves an innovative process, combining training and co-creation workshops that are supported by the ILO's quality apprenticeship system model. The policy will lay out guidance for elaborating and implementing an inclusive and sustainable National Apprenticeship Programme. A milestone in The Bahamas Decent Work Country Programme (DWCP) 2021 – 2026, the National Apprenticeship Programme will deliver quality apprenticeships on priority industry sectors that are aligned with strategic national goals to promote inclusive economic growth, resilience, and environmentally sustainable development.
