ILO and UNRCO discuss partnership and resource mobilization strategies to support the work of the UNCT in Belize

Representatives of the ILO and the UN Resident Coordinator (UNRCO) in Belize participated in a consultation session on strengthening the cooperation and collaboration around issues related to the work of the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) Belize. Director of the ILO Decent Work Team and Office for the Caribbean , Mr Dennis Zulu detailed the work of the ILO in Belize during the session. He outlined the continued work in the areas of social protection, child labour and labour standards.
Mr Zulu appealed for increased commitment and visibility to advocacy for the ratification of the ILO Convention C190 on Violence and Harassment, 2019. The Convention recognizes the right of everyone to a world of work free from violence and harassment.
During the consultation, the UNRCO Team represented by Ms Tracey Hutchinson (Development Coordinator Officer, Strategic Planner and Team Leader) and Mr. Hero Ranjit Balani (Associate Development Coordination Officer, Partnership and Development Finance) provided insight into the role of the RCO, the partnership and financing landscape and the road map for strategy development in Belize.
The consultation concluded with key next steps towards the development of the UNCT Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Strategy 2022-2026 in support of the Multi-Country Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (MSDCF) 2022-2026.
