ILO and Nigeria sign a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation
The International Training Centre of the ILO and the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS) of Nigeria signed a new Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen their cooperation and coordination in capacity building, training and research.
GENEVA, (ILO news) - The International Training Centre of the ILO and the Michael Imoudu National Institute for Labour Studies (MINILS) of Nigeria signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen their cooperation and coordination in capacity building, training and research.
Under this agreement, the ITC-ILO based in Turin, Italy and the MINILS will cooperate in a wide range of areas related to the world of work, including capacity building interventions in labour administration and inspection, research collaboration in labour statistics, development of innovative learning platforms and education programmes, and training for Nigerian academics and professionals, especially in labour standards and social protection.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Patricia O’Donovan for ITC-ILO and the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity, Dr Clement Illoh of Nigeria. The signing of this three-year long agreement took place on the sidelines of the 103rd session of the ILO’s International Labour Conference.
