ILO and Gabon focus on social dialogue and tripartism
H.E. Daniel Ona Ondo, PM of Gabon and Aeneas Chuma, ILO Regional Director for Africa, stressed in Libreville the importance of promoting social dialogue and consensus building in the country.

ADDIS ABABA (ILO News) – H.E. Daniel Ona Ondo, Prime Minister of Gabon and the ILO Assistant Director-General and Regional Director for Africa, Aeneas Chapinga Chuma, discussed in Libreville how to improve and share good practices of social dialogue in the world of work.
On 25 August, Mr Daniel Ona Ondo and Mr Chuma discussed ways and means of strenghtening social dialogue and tripartism in Gabon. The meeting focused on supporting the capacity of social partners in Gabon.
The Regional Director for Africa of the International Labour Office (ILO) also met the Minister of Labour, Simon Ntoutoume Emane, to dialogue on youth employment creation and labour market in Gabon.
The ILO aims at enhancing the development of sound tripartite relations and collective bargaining with a highlight on processes of negotiations. Aeneas Chapinga Chuma joined earlier Trade ministers, civil society, and business leaders from across sub-Saharan Africa to discuss “a course for a sustainable U.S.-Africa Trade and Investment Partnership” at the AGOA Forum in Libreville.
