GYB and SYB adaptation to Sudan

Under PROSPECTS Sudan, funded by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs and implemented by ILO, UNHCR and UNICEF, the ILO adapted Generate Your Business Idea (GYB) and Start Your Business (SYB) manuals to the Sudanese context. The manuals are available for SIYB Trainers and Master Trainers on the Gateway.
The Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) manuals adapted to the Sudanese context explain the building blocks for a successful business using a learning by doing approach through practical exercises as well as the case studies of fictional Sudanese entrepreneurs Selam, Maria, Gadain and Sulaiman among others.
GYB is intended for potential entrepreneurs who would like to start a business, and who, through the training, develop a concrete business idea ready for implementation.
SYB is a combination of training, field work and after-training support for potential entrepreneurs who already have a concrete business idea and need to assess their readiness to start the business, as well as prepare a business plan and evaluate its viability.
Under PROSPECTS, the ILO has also certified 14 SIYB trainers and two entrepreneurship hubs to sustain the efforts of supporting Sudanese forcibly displaced and host communities to utilize the local market opportunities and venture into successful businesses in Sudan.
