Georgia’s trade unions support amendments to Labour Code

The Georgian Trade Union Confederation welcomes the initiative of the ruling coalition Georgian Dream to introduce amendments to the Labour Code.

According to the Confederation’s statement, the International Labour Organization, the Council of Europe, the United States and the European Union also demand that Georgia’s Labour Code should be amended.

The Georgian Trade Union Confederation expresses the hope that amendments will enhance protection of workers’ rights.

“Such approach will trigger cooperation between the government and trade unions, which characterizes the civilized world,” the statement read.
