Garment and textile factories in Ethiopia strive to improve their OSH system
With the support of ILO, Ethiopian garment factories step us to ensure a functional occupational safety and health management system.

ILO News (Addis Ababa): A garment and textile industry, Alemda which employs 5000 employees, trained its employees in occupational safety and health (OSH) with the aim of ensuring a safe working environment. As part of its capacity building in OSH, ILO organized the training from 29-30 August, 2017 to employees at supervisory levels, who would be instrumental in setting up a functional OSH system in the factory. The training would consequently enhances productivity through ensuring a safer working environment.
Following that , ILO organized a series of soft-skill training for workers in textile and garment industries in September 2017. The training, which included discipline, timeliness, team coordination, and communication, was done in partnership with Organization for Women in Self Employment (WISE).
