ILO-BUDAPEST: The International Labour Organisation (ILO) project ”Promotion of Youth Employment”, in collaboration with the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the National Employment Agency launches the information and awareness raising campaign ”The future is yours” on 7 June, 2017. The one-month campaign will unfold throughout the country, and include broadcasting video and audio spots, dissemination of printed information materials and releasing a range of thematic radio broadcasts.
The campaign aims to inform young people aged 15-18 years about the importance of taking a correct decision with respect to their future profession, and to promote the advantages of hiring young graduates among employers.
Through this message, we aim to educate, motivate and encourage employers to hire young graduates of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) system or higher education, who have not yet accumulated the necessary experience. It is obvious that their apparent engagement and investing in the professional growth of young people will certainly enhance the development of their own enterprise.
Another problem youth is facing today is the failure to correctly choose the adequate profession, which would allow them to find a job much more easily in the future.
The campaign also promotes making a well-informed and committed choice of profession by young people, using different sources of information and benefiting from an appropriate guidance by matching the capacities and abilities of young persons with the demand of the labour market in the Republic of Moldova.
During the entire campaign period, until July 7, the project plans to tackle two main subjects at the national level along with its partners: the development of qualifications and competences, and the facilitation of school-to-work transition of young people.
The ILO project ”Promotion of Youth Employment” was launched within the SIDA-ILO global partnership, the main beneficiaries being the National Employment Agency and the Ministry for Labour, Social Protection and Family. The main objective of the project is to consolidate the capacities of Moldovan constituents involved in the implementation of the National Employment Strategy (NES 2017-2021), with a clear youth and migration focus, as well as strengthening their capacities on macroeconomic policies for promoting more and better jobs, and for tackling inequalities in the labour market.
