Fundamentals of collective bargaining for primary trade union organizations: workshop in Armenia

This event was organized by Global Alliance IndustriALL and the Trade Unions of Industrial Workers of Armeniaю The ILO was represented by John Bliek, Senior Enterprise Specialist, ILO Moscow.

ILO presented Social Dialogue for Job Creation as an important element of the ongoing Enabling Environment for Sustainable Enterprises (EESE) programme, promoted by the ILO in Armenia. The programme aims to improve business environment for enterprises and their workers through social dialogue and evidence based advocacy.

The presentation by the ILO was well received and led to positive debate on how trade unions can get involved in social dialogue at the national, sector and company Level. This information was especially relevant for this audience as many were newly elected chairpersons of trade unions at the company level.

It is worth mentioning that the Armenian Trade Union of Industrial Workers also participates in the tripartite social dialogue at the national level so involvement of this trade union in the EESE process can be expected.
