First official visit of ILO Regional Director for Africa in Mauritius

The ILO Regional Director for Africa, Aeneas Chapinga CHUMA will pay an official visit to Mauritius from 29 September to 2 October 2015.

ANTANANARIVO (ILO News) - The Assistant Director-General of the International Labour Office (ILO) and Regional Director for Africa, Mr. Aeneas Chapinga CHUMA will pay an official visit to Mauritius and Seychelles from 29 September to 2 October 2015.

This first high-level mission aims to strengthen the strategic cooperation between the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Tripartite Constituents (government, workers, employers) in the country.

From Tuesday 29 September to Friday 2 October, 2015 in Mauritius, Mr CHUMA is expected to meet, respectively:
  • The president of the Republic,
  • The President of the National Assembly,
  • The Minister of Finance and Economic Development,
  • Minister of Labour, Industrial Relations, Employment and Training,
  • The social partners.
The Head of the ILO Africa must then intervene during the interactive workshop on the National Employment Policy on 1 October 2015 at 9.30 am at the 1st floor conference room of the Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations, Employment and Training in Port Louis.

Mr. Chuma will hold a press conference on Friday, October 2nd, 2015 at 14:30, in the same first floor conference room of the Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations, Employment and Training in Port Louis.

Mauritius is Member of the ILO since 1969.
