Federation for Egyptian Industries (FEI) in partnership with the ILO organizes first Internship Day for young Science, Technology, Engineering and Math graduates in Egypt
The Federation of Egyptian Industries and the ILO cooperate to avail young graduates the opportunity for internships in industry, with the end aim of employment.

The Federation for Egyptian Industries (FEI) in partnership with the ILO organized an Internship Day last week, for young Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) graduates, with the end aim of getting qualified candidates into employment.
At the end of the day over 1200 young graduates attended the event and registered for internships. Over 40 Egyptian companies in the ICT and Engineering fields introduced their companies and the internship opportunities they offer. The Federation of Egyptian Industries will place qualified candidates into industrial establishments among its membership. The Federation of Egyptian Industries - Egypt’s employers’ organization - represents 20 industrial chambers and 102,000 industrial enterprises, accounting for more than two million workers and 18% of the national economy. FEI is thus uniquely placed to offer such a service and would on the one hand contribute to helping qualified candidates gain practical experience through their internship and on the other help participating member companies identify suitable candidates to fill the vacancies, they otherwise struggled to fill.
The executive Director of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, Dr. Khaled Abdelazim highlighted the willingness of industry to play their role in equipping youth with practical skills and capabilities to be able to join the Egyptian labour market. Dr. El Sayed Torky, Senior Advisor at the FEI, explained that as a first batch they will start with 600 to 1000 internship placements.
The support comes under the Higher Education for Life and Work (HELW) project, funded by the United Kingdom and implemented by the ILO in partnership with iCareer, Al Alfi Foundation and Advance HE.
