Employment agencies staff trained on new job search techniques in Moldova

MOLDOVA (ILO News)-- on 19-24 June, 2017 the International Labour Organization (ILO) organized a two-day capacity building training for the Employment Agencies staff on employment counselling and job search in Moldova.
50 employment specialists from all the Employment Agencies, including the National Agency were have been trained on how to use the Guidelines on the organization of career guidance and job search activities, developed within the ILO project “Promotion of Youth Employment”. Taking into account all the changes in the modern labour market, the structure and categories of people searching for a job, the existing procedures do not fit into the national normative regulation. Currently the procedures are not clear and handy to use by specialists responsible for information delivery and professional counselling.

The purpose of the new Guidelines is to provide employment specialists with informational and methodological support for better career guidance process and job searching. The main objective of the training was to be able to deliver a correct diagnosis on the causes of employment problems that are essential for effective employment services and programmes. The training contributed to developing the capacities of employment specialists to provide better services to young people, helping them in a faster transition from school to work, while being more accurate in their choice of profession and as a result, more actively integrated on the labour market.

The ILO project ”Promotion of Youth Employment” was launched within the SIDA-ILO global partnership, the main beneficiaries being the National Employment Agency and the Ministry for Labour, Social Protection and Family. The main objective of the project is to consolidate the capacities of Moldovan constituents involved in the implementation of the National Employment Strategy (NES 2017-2021) with a clear focus on youth and migration, as well as having strengthened their capacities on macroeconomic policies for promoting more and better jobs and for tackling inequalities on the labour market.
