Employers’ role in developing social partnership system in Russia – conference in Moscow
At the initiative of the All-Russian Association of Employers of Electric Power Industry on May 29 Moscow hosted a research and practice conference focusing on prospects for development of sectoral employers’ associations and their role in developing the social partnership system in Russia.

It was important to note that the conference on such a pressing theme that evoked unprecedented interest – over 150 participants registered for this event – had been organized at the federal level for the first time. The special thing about the conference was presence of all interested parties – representatives of the government, sectoral employers’ associations, trade unions and scientific community.
Executive Secretary of the Russian Tripartite Commission for the Regulation of Social and Labour Relations Natalia Zharova addressed conference delegates reading a welcome speech by Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets. In her speech Golodets stressed “the need for comprehensive discussion of social partnership development at the sectoral level and importance of a system analysis and the formation of the list of possible measures encouraging employers to actively participate in the development of the social partnership system in different industries.”
Deputy Labour and Social Protection Minister Lyubov Yeltsova focused on main areas of her ministry’s activity to develop the system of sectoral social partnership and read a welcome message by Labour and Social Protection Minister Maxim Topolin. First Deputy President of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia Sergey Nekrasov read welcoming words by the FNPR President Mikhail Shmakov. ILO Moscow was represented by Senior Specialist for Employers’ Activities Jelena Kocmur.
Participants in the discussion noted that the conference became a milestone event that helped inform a wide range of experts about the results of activity of the intersectoral tripartite working group on decision making in social partnership.
