In this report published in Sala Negra, Elmer Mamani exposes the reality faced by miners like Teófilo Cutimbo Pacombía and Inocencio Soncco Hanco, who endure precarious and high-risk working conditions, without regular wages and with only an uncertain promise of finding some gold as their sole reward.
They have sacrificed their health and put their lives at risk under the exploitative conditions present in the informal mining sector.
