Distance training for Tajikistan on reporting on ratified ILO Conventions
Reporting on the application of ratified Conventions in national law and practice is an obligation under the ILO Constitution. Distance training was provided to support Tajikistan in improving the frequency and quality of its reporting.

Tajikistan has ratified 50 Conventions and 1 Protocol of the Inernational Labour Organization (ILO). By ratifying these instruments, the country formally committed to ensure the effective application of their provisions, both in law and in practice, and to periodically report on steps being taken in this regard to the ILO Supervisory Bodies. Further to a request from the Ministry of Labour, Migration and Employment of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan, the ILO provided a training for 15 representatives from different Ministries, the Committee on Women and Family Affairs, as well as 2 representatives of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Tajikistan.
The distance training, which took place from 26 – 29 May, focused on reporting related to the Fundamental Human Rights Conventions of the ILO concerning freedom of association and non- discrimination/gender equality. In addition to being provided with an overview of the main provisions of the Conventions, participants examined the related Report Forms and the type of information to be reported on.
Mr. Nurullo Mahmadullozoda, Deputy Minister of Labour, Migration and Employment of the Republic of Tajikistan, noted that “distance training on international labour standards, organized with the support of the International Labour Organization, was very timely and very important. He expressed confidence that the knowledge and skills gained during the training will support specialists in better and timely preparation of Reports of the Republic of Tajikistan on ratified ILO Conventions, as well as in improving national legislation in the field of labour”.
