Director-General meets ILO Moscow staff
The ILO Director General Guy Ryder, who came to Moscow on the occasion of the G20 Labour and Employment Ministers' Meeting, visited the DWT/CO Moscow office on 17 July to meet the staff.

“My first year as Director-General is going to be "the Russian year" for me, starting with the
Decent Work Conference in December 2012 organized jointly with the Russian Federation and in connection with Russia's Presidency of G20. After my present visit, I will also come in September for G20 summit in St. Petersburg”, he said.
The Director-General expressed his high appreciation of the DWT/CO Moscow Team’s work in support for the tripartite constituents in the region and thanked for assistance for the participation of the ILO delegations in the G20 meetings.
He also reflected on the encouraging results of the International Labour Conference and positive reaction from constituents to the seven centenary initiatives proposed in his report “Towards the ILO centenary: Realities, Renewal and Tripartite Commitment”.
Replying to the questions of DWT/CO Moscow colleagues about the ILO reform and further challenges, Guy Ryder engaged in a lively discussion and stressed significant importance of seeking new methods of work and ways of cooperation that would ensure that the ILO delivers relevant and quality support for its constituents.
The Director-General got familiarized with the history of the ILO office in Moscow, one of the world’s oldest ILO offices established in 1959, and made a short round of the office premises located in the historical part of Moscow.
