Decent Work Country Programme Discussed in Tashkent
On 17 November 2016, a roundtable on "Status and prospects of implementation of the Decent Work Country Programme in the Republic of Uzbekistan" was held in Tashkent.

The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Labour, the heads of the Federation of Trade Unions and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, more than 70 senior officials of other Uzbek ministries and institutions, and representatives of the ILO, the World Bank, the International Trade Union Confederation, the UN, UNICEF, the United States, Germany, Switzerland, France, Korea, Russia, the UK and the EU.
The round table featured presentations on national and ILO assessments of measures taken to prevent child and forced labour during the cotton harvest and on the Feedback mechanism. The participants noted the progress made and offered recommendations to government ministries and organizations on the Coordination Council on Child Labour concerning future steps. In addition to this, data on the current progress in the implementation of the Decent Work Country Programme was presented, as well as plans for the future. Upon completion of the current programme period of 2014-2016, the Decent Work Country Programme of the Republic of Uzbekistan will continue in 2017-2020.
