Decent work – decent wage!
On August 5-6 Ulan-Ude in the Republic of Buryatia, Russia’s Siberia, hosted a conference entitled Decent work – decent wage! It was organized by the ILO, the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia in the Siberian Federal District and the Association of Trade Unions of the Republic of Buryatia.

The conference brought together representatives of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia, the office of the Russian presidential envoy to the Siberian Federal District, government of the Republic of Buryatia and the Ulan-Ude administration, associations of trade unions and employers and scientific community. The International Labour Organization was represented by ILO Moscow Senior Specialist in Workers’ Activities Sergeyus Glovackas and Senior Social Security Specialist Mariko Ouchi.
Ahead of the conference Russian and Mongolian trade unionists met to express their mutual intention to enhance cooperation and exchange experience.
On the second day of the conference ILO specialists led by Mariko Ouchi held a training focusing on gender aspects for combining work and family responsibilities.
