Corporate Social Responsibility/Global Compact Conference in Baku
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), UN Global Compact Local Network (GCLN), National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers') Organizations of Azerbaijan and PwC Azerbaijan (GCLN Sustainability Partner), in cooperation with UNICEF Azerbaijan and International Labour Organization (ILO) organized in Baku the Corporate Social Responsibility/Global Compact Conference on November 12.

The UN Global Compact is a United Nations initiative that encourages companies to abide by the ten universal principles of the GC, in the spheres of human rights, labor relations, the environment and anti-corruption.
The main objective of the Conference was to refresh the knowledge on the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) among public and private sector, bring best practices to Azerbaijan, generate awareness raising process and promote the UN Global Compact principles.
The Conference also demonstrated the excellence in social innovation with a focus on social, economic and environmental sustainability.
The speakers of the conference included senior level representatives of the Government of Azerbaijan, international public and private organizations, CSR think-tanks and experts.
Niyazi Safarov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Republic of Azerbaijan, made an opening speech.
The International Labour Orgnization was represented by Yukiko Arai, Senior Specialist of the Multinational Enterprises Programme.
The organizers and participants stay committed to continuous follow up on the CSR and sustainable development agenda.
