A contest of social projects to assist children in Kyrgyzstan

On August 13, the Labour and Social Development Ministry of Kyrgyzstan announced a contest of social projects among non-governmental organizations on prevention of the worst forms of child labour and social adaptation of disabled children. The contest will be conducted within the framework of the state programme for the implementation of children’s rights New Generation and of the law on state social order.
Organizations operating in this sphere for no less than 12 months can be among bidders. The deadline for applications is September 25.
The ministry has already organized similar contests in 2004 and 2006 to select projects on prevention of social abandonment and child labour that were implemented all over the republic. Almost every region of Kyrgyzstan has launched assistance centres for street children.
