The lottery ticket we present today is much more than a commemorative symbol. It is a recognition of seven decades of continuous work alongside Mexico and an expression of our shared commitment to social justice and decent work, said Pedro Américo Furtado de Oliveira, Director of the ILO in Mexico and Cuba.
Furtado de Oliveira emphasized that this special issue pays tribute to the ILO’s trajectory since the opening of its office in Mexico in 1955, as well as to the country’s historic commitment as a Member State of the Organization since 1931. “Throughout this time, the ILO has supported the country in strengthening social dialogue, labour justice and the promotion of decent work through tripartite cooperation among government, employers and workers,” he added.
In his remarks, Secretary Marath Baruch Bolaños López highlighted that unveiling the commemorative National Lottery ticket not only marks an anniversary but also honours a shared history of commitment to social justice, decent work and tripartite dialogue, built daily in a deeply enriching relationship between Mexico and the ILO.
It has accompanied us through an enormous effort to transform the Mexican world of work, consolidated in a true Spring of Labour Rights, he noted.
The commemorative ticket is now available at physical points of sale and online (miloteria.mx). Special Draw No. 305 will take place on 31 October at 8:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on the National Lottery’s YouTube channel.
