SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras (ILO News) - Committed to addressing the root causes of child labour and improving strategic global partnerships, the CLEAR Supply Chains project made a significant impact during its participation in CAFEXPO Honduras 2025, the first national event dedicated to connecting the entire coffee supply chain during two days of networking, collaboration, business, and celebration. The event featured the participation of key coffee sector actors.

A project with a transformative vision

The CLEAR Supply Chains project aims to implement integrated interventions that address the problem of child labour and strengthen global partnerships to create lasting impact. Its strategy focuses on promoting active cooperation between local and global actors, investing in preventive measures and due diligence on human rights. This approach ensures that every actor in the coffee chain, from the farm to the cup of coffee, participates meaningfully in the solution.

The event served as a strategic platform for the CLEAR Supply Chains project to achieve its national objectives, providing visibility to its activities and results. Among the most outstanding achievements during the event are:

  • Dissemination and awareness-raising: The project was presented to a diverse audience of key actors in the coffee supply chain, from small producers to large international companies. The importance of due diligence in the eradication of child labour was emphasized.
  • Strengthening partnerships: Consultations held during the event allowed valuable connections to be established between local and global actors, consolidating a cooperation network for the advancement of the project.
  • Innovation in implementation: Innovative and effective measures to combat child labour were promoted and highlighted, ensuring that all involved actors can measure and understand the impact of their actions.

Honduras, a pioneer country in the fight against child labour

The participation of the CLEAR Supply Chains project at CAFEXPO reaffirms Honduras' commitment to addressing critical issues within the coffee industry. This effort not only impacts nationally but also positions the country as a model for other nations and supply chains.

In a world where sustainability and human rights are increasingly central, the CLEAR Supply Chains project stands as an example of how strategic interventions and global cooperation can transform entire industries.
