Building and wood: strengthening prevention at work in Tunisia
An awareness-raising event in Bizerte brought together workers, trade union representatives, enterprises and experts to discuss the prevention of occupational risks in the building and wood sectors.

BIZERTE (ILO News) - Workers, trade union representatives, enterprises and experts from the building and wood sectors gathered in Bizerte on 24 April 2026 for an awareness-raising event organized to mark the World Day for Safety and Health at Work.
Organized by the General Federation of Building and Wood of the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT), in collaboration with the International Labour Organization (ILO), the event focused on psychosocial risks, mental health, good HSE practices, first aid and prevention tools adapted to the realities of worksites.
Discussions focused on practical solutions to better prevent occupational risks and further integrate mental health into workplace practices.
