ILO collaborates with Trade Unions in Botswana
The International Labour Organization in collaboration with the Botswana Federation of Trade Unions facilitated a workshop to discuss challenges affecting trade unions in the country.
The workshop served as a platform for trade union leaders and representatives to come up with possible interventions for the challenges identified, map the way forward and plan 2015/16 activities.
The primary mandate of the Botswana Decent Work Country Programme (BDCWP) is to promote decent work through tripartism and social dialogue .
This means engaging and working with government, workers, and employers to address social concerns, discuss challenges, build consensus and help elaborate on international labour standards.
The collaborations with various trade unions in different countries is how the International Labour Organization supports ,assists and empowers social partners to effectively play their role in addressing and overcoming labour related issues.
