Average wages in Kazakhstan rise by 7.6 per cent in 2013

Average salary of workers in Kazakhstan was 137,043 tenge [about 890 dollars] in December 2013, which is an increase of 7.6 per cent compared with December 2012.

In reality taking into consideration price hikes, salaries rose by 2.6 per cent in the mentioned period, the State Agency for Statistics reported.

In terms of economic sectors, the highest salaries were reported in the mining industry (274,300 tenge which is twice as high as the national average), in the professional, scientific and technical fields (273,300 tenge which is also twice as high), and in the financial and insurance fields (275,100 tenge, which is again twice as high).

The lowest wages were reported in agriculture, forestry and fishing industry.
