Armenia Hosts a Seminar to Discuss Legal Support of Equality between Women and Men in Employment

On 8 and 9 June 2016, a seminar on "Legal Support of Equality between Women and Men in Armenia" was held in Tsakhkadzor, Armenia, in the framework of cooperation between the ITUC-PERC, ILO, and the Armenian Confederation of Trade Unions.

Eduard Tumasyan, President of the Confederation, opened the seminar. In his welcoming address, he outlined the reforms implemented by Armenia's trade unions and emphasized the importance of legal and practical aspects of supporting gender equality in the workplace.
The seminar featured presentations by Sergeyus Glovackas, Senior Specialist in Workers’ Activities at the Decent Work Technical Support Team and Country Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia; Olga Nicolae, ITUC-PERC Legal Adviser; Eteri Matureli, Deputy Chair of the Unified Trade Unions of Georgia, Member of the PERC Women Committee; and Tirui Nazaretyan, Member of the Commission for Legal Support of Equal Rights and Opportunities.
