Geneva – The ILO Skills Innovation Facility, together with the Alliance 8.7 have announced the four finalists of the 3rd ILO Skills Challenge Innovation Call on preventing forced labour in Africa through skills and lifelong learning.
The call aimed to identify the most innovative solutions that focus on achieving positive and sustainable change at three different levels (individual, structural and community) through innovative skills and lifelong learning interventions to help contribute to the eradication of forced labour in areas and/or economic sectors in Africa where vulnerable populations are still subjected to such forms of exploitation.
From the applications received. These are the selected finalists (in alphabetical order):

Igniting women smallholder farmers climate entrepreneurship project to end forced labour, Zimbabwe
Réseau des jeunes entrepreneurs, Comoros
The mentorship class 2022, Uganda
Finalists will be competing for a chance to win a 30,000 USD grant to implement the proposed solution. Additionally, the winning team will receive technical support to turn the idea into a ready-to-implement prototype, as well as global visibility.
The winner of the 3rd ILO Skills Challenge Innovation Call on Preventing forced labour in Africa through skills and lifelong learning, will be revealed in November 2021.
