Abu Dhabi Dialogue

The Abu Dhabi Dialogue is a Ministerial level regional consultative process on migration between the Gulf States and the Colombo Process countries (migrant origin countries of Asia).

ILO was invited to make a presentation in the session on recruitment, particularly focusing on alternative models and schemes of labour recruitment that are conducive to fair and compliant practices.

ILO presented the Fair Migration Agenda and presented four different areas for working together-
  1. Joint oversight and shared responsibility of BLAs
  2. Interlinked grievance and dispute resolution mechanism with joint liability
  3. Government-managed matching
  4. Research for informed policy-making on recruitment
